As summer creeps to a close and back to school is in the air, we remember those on 9/11. This year for the fourth year in a row, Richie Stegilman will be doing his part to remember with the 9/11 Motorcycle Run BBQ. The event this year will be held at Town Hall 40 Mill Road Eastchester, NY 10709 on Sunday, September 7, 2014.

 

The Motorcycle Run goes from Town Hall to the World Trade Center and back. Just as in past years, there will be police escorts by the Westchester County Police Department, Eastchester Police Department and Highway One of the NYC police Department. The Run will return to Town Hall about noon for the remberance celebration portion of the 9/11 Barbeque.

 

There will be coffee starting at 7:30 am and onsite registration will beginning at 8am through 10:30am with kick stands up at 11:00am. Once back in Town Hall, the BBQ portion of the event will commence. There be plenty of Hamburgers, Hot Dogs included with the price of admission. “Its really great to see the local merchants and the community come out for a day to remember and celebrate all that was lost on 9/11”, said Richie Steigelman Event Organizer. “All event proceeds get donated to local charities for Cancer and Leukemia. So come join us and remember so many of our neighbors” he continues.

 

This year will also feature two head line acts for the entertainment. The extremely appealing entertainment of Steve Michaels, original lead singer of The Velvatones. His unique style includes songs from the 50s to the present. His unique style, charisma make him a superstar. As well as the incomparable Teri Lamar & New Company, voted “Westchester’s Friendliest Band” by More SugarAs one of Westchester’s Best Terri Lamar has been seen locally at the most popular clubs or high profile corporate events since 2002. The musical versatility of both of these performers’ will make for a great afternoon.

There will be activities for the kids as well as other local vendors that both support this event and the local charities.

If you don’t ride but would like to support the event, the BBQ portion is only $15 per person, this is included in the ride portion of event. Richie Steigleman had been in the community for over 25 years, he operates the Mobile Gas Station 850 White Plains Road Scarsdale, NY 10583 (914) 725-5253 and has earned the respect of the community and peers with the service work he performs on the vehicles he repairs. He was also the Fire Commissioner for Eastchester for the term of 2009-2013.
